๐And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together and said to them, โThese are the things which the LORD has commanded you to do. 2 ๐Work is to be done for six days, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever works on it shall be put to death. 3 ๐On the Sabbath you shall not light a fire in any of your homesโ.Offerings for the building of the tabernacle
4 ๐And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, โThis is the thing which the LORD has commanded, saying, 5 ๐โTake from among yourselves an offering for the LORD. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering for the LORD: gold, and silver, and bronze, 6 ๐and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goatsโ hair, 7 and ramsโ skins dyed red, and badgersโ skins, and acacia wood, 8 ๐and oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 9 ๐and onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
35:5,9 Ex 25:1-9. In offerings made to God there must be a willing mind (vs 21,29; Deut 15:10; 1 Chron 29:3, 5, 9, 14, 17; 2 Cor 9:7; 8:12), otherwise the offering is not acceptable. Godโs people should count it a joy to give to God and His work. If we do not, there is something wrong with our spiritual condition. Godโs command to give of our substance to Him is a test of our love for Him and His work. If we love Him we will want to give something to Him. The people then were giving for the construction of a sanctuary so God could live among them. New Testament believers have the privilege of giving toward the work of the building of Godโs spiritual house, the church which is Christโs body. Note and references on giving at 2 Cor 9:15.โ

20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel left Mosesโ presence, 21 ๐and everyone whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whose spirit made him willing, came and brought the LORDโs offering for the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all its service, and for the holy garments. 22 ๐And all who were willing, both men and women, came and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and ornaments, all gold jewelry, and everyone presented an offering of gold to the LORD. 23 ๐And everyone who had in his possession blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goatsโ hair, and red skins of rams, and badgersโ skins, brought them. 24 ๐Everyone who presented an offering of silver and bronze brought the LORDโs offering, and everyone who had acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it. 25 ๐And all the women who were skillful spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun in blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. 26 ๐And all the women whose heart stirred them with a skill spun goatsโ hair. 27 ๐And the leaders brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate, 28 ๐and spices, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. 29 ๐The children of Israel brought a willing offering to the LORD, each man and woman whose heart made them willing to bring something for all the kinds of work which the LORD had commanded through Moses to be made.
The Call of Bezaleel and Aholiab
30 ๐And Moses said to the children of Israel, โSee, the LORD has called Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, by name 31 ๐and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, and with knowledge, and with all manner of craftsmanship, 32 to make designs to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, 33 and to cut stones for setting them, and in carving wood, to make any kind of artistic work. 34 ๐And he has put in his heart, both his and that of Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. 35 ๐He has filled them with wisdom of heart to do all kinds of work, of the engraver, and of the artistic craftsman, and of the embroiderer in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, of those who do any work, and of those who make designsโ.
